Persistence Pays

Persistence: the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people

I would assume that you have heard the expression, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”  This is a phrase that relates directly to being persistent.  When things get hard do you give up or do you double down and work harder?  If you really want to achieve something great than the work you put into it must also be great.

The MBLEx is not an easy examination to pass.  Over a quarter of individuals will fail the MBLEx their first time out and only 40% of those that do not pass the first time will pass it on their second attempt.  However, looked at another way, nearly three quarters of individuals will pass the MBLEx their first time trying.  Sometimes it is all a matter of perspective.

If you have had a rough time trying to pass this exam you have two choices, give up and stop trying to pass it or double down and try even harder to pass it.  For any of you who consider a career in massage as a long-standing dream job, you must double down and try harder.  Do not give up if you consider this a dream career.  On the other hand, do not keep doing things the same way that brought you failure the first time.  You need to experiment with other methods of studying and you need to look at the effort you put in the first go around and give an honest evaluation if that was your best effort.

If this is truly something you want, then refocus and put even more into the process of learning the material.  For anything that you want with passion in this life you must be persistent and put the effort in that will get you to your goals.  Remember: Persistence Pays.
